Plan Kids’ Parties and Playdates With AI (Bonus Lesson for Moms)

Use Claude and Grok Imagine to plan a kids' birthday party or playdate: theme, schedule, games, food, invitations and a countdown checklist.

Bonus lesson · About 10 minutes

From a backyard birthday for ten to a last-minute playdate, AI can do the planning so you get to enjoy the party.

The party plan, start to finish

Theme and schedule Claude

My child is turning [age] and loves [interests]. [Number] kids, [place], [length] long, budget $[amount]. Suggest 3 themes. For the one I pick, I'll ask for a timed schedule, 2 games, 1 craft and a food plan.

The countdown checklist Claude

The party is on [date]. Make a countdown checklist: 3 weeks out, 2 weeks, 1 week, 2 days, the morning of, and an hour before. Include ordering the cake, sending invites, buying supplies and a cleanup plan.

Food for every kid Claude

Plan party food for [number] kids aged [ages] and about [number] adults. Allergies we know about: [list]. Keep it simple, mostly make-ahead, and include one thing every kid will eat. Give me a shopping list.

Invitations

Use Grok Imagine for the picture and Claude for the words. Grok Imagine gives you several versions at once, so you can pick the one you like.

The invite picture Grok Imagine

A bright, cheerful [theme] party invitation background for a [age]th birthday. Cartoon style. Leave a clear empty area in the middle for text. No words or letters in the picture.

The invite words Claude

Write short, fun invitation text for [nickname]'s [age]th [theme] birthday on [date] at [time]. Ask parents to RSVP by [date] and mention any allergies. Keep it under 40 words so it fits on the picture.

Put your home address in the invite yourself, after you’ve made it. You don’t need to give it to the AI.

Playdates

A playdate that runs itself Claude

I'm hosting a [2]-hour playdate for [number] kids aged [ages]. Give me a loose plan: one activity to start, one in the middle, snack time, and a calm-down activity before pickup. Use things most homes have.

The message to the other parent Claude

Write a friendly text inviting [child]'s friend over for a playdate on [day] from [time] to [time]. Ask about allergies and whether they'd like to stay or drop off. Keep it short and relaxed.

Try it tonight

Even if no party is coming up, try the theme prompt with your child next to you. Picking the theme together is half the fun.
