How to Price a Digital Product Without Guessing (Module 6, Lesson 2)

Price your printable or app using what similar products sell for, what you'd keep after fees, and a simple launch price, with Grok gathering prices and Claude doing the math.

Module 6 · Lesson 2 of 5 · About 12 minutes

Most new sellers price too low because it feels safer. Pricing isn’t a guess or a feeling. It’s three numbers: what similar things sell for, what you keep after fees, and what your product does better.

Number 1: what similar products cost

Price check Grok

Find 10 products similar to my [product] for sale right now. For each: price, how many pages or features, and roughly how many reviews. Link each one. Then tell me the typical low, middle and high price.

Click a few. Make sure you’re comparing like with like: a 40-page bundle isn’t the same as a single page.

Number 2: what you keep

Use the fees from Lesson 1. A $3 product on a platform that takes a fixed fee plus a percentage can leave you very little. Small products often work better in a bundle.

Number 3: why yours is worth it

Your research in Module 5 found a gap. If yours fixes the thing buyers complained about, you don’t have to be the cheapest.

Put it together

Pick my price Claude

Help me price my [product]. Similar products sell for [low, middle, high]. My platform's fees are [fees]. Mine is different because [your gap]. Suggest a regular price and a short launch price, show what I'd keep at each, and explain the trade-off of going lower or higher. Then suggest one simple bundle and what it should cost.

Simple pricing moves

  • Launch price: a lower price for the first week or two, then the regular price. Say honestly when it ends.
  • Bundles: three related products together for less than buying each one.
  • Good, better, best: a basic version, a full version, and a full version plus a bonus.

Pricing honestly

  • Don’t show a fake “original price” that was never charged.
  • Don’t claim “limited time” if it isn’t.
  • Say clearly that it’s a digital download, so nobody expects something in the mail.

Run the Price check for your product, then Pick my price. Write down your launch price, your regular price and the date the launch price ends.
