You’ve looked at your product so long you can’t see it anymore. Fresh eyes find in five minutes what you’d miss in five weeks. This lesson is how to get honest feedback and turn it into a better product.
Who to ask
- 3 to 5 moms who match your buyer. A homeschool planner needs homeschool moms, not your sister who doesn’t homeschool.
- At least one who isn’t a close friend. Friends are kind. You need honest.
- Give it free in exchange for feedback, and ask if you can quote them later (only if they say yes).
Watch, don’t explain
If you can, sit with them or video call while they use it for the first time. Don’t explain anything. Just watch. Every time you want to say “oh, you just tap there,” write it down. That’s a fix.
Ask better questions
Feedback questions Claude
Write 6 short feedback questions I can text to moms testing my [product]. Avoid yes/no questions and questions that fish for compliments. Include: what confused them, what they'd change first, what they'd pay for it, and who they'd recommend it to.
“Did you like it?” gets “Yes!” “What was the most confusing part?” gets the truth.
Turn feedback into fixes
Sort my feedback Claude
Here's feedback from moms who tested my [product], with names removed: [paste]. Group it into: must fix before selling, nice to fix later, and ignore (one person's taste). Count how many testers mentioned each thing. Then give me the top 3 fixes in order.
If two or more people tripped on the same thing, fix it. If one person wants something totally different, note it and move on.
It’s not about you
Critical feedback stings. It’s also the most valuable thing anyone can give you for free. Every “this was confusing” is a future buyer who won’t ask for a refund. Thank every tester, even the blunt ones.
Ready to sell?
- At least 3 testers used it without needing your help
- Every “must fix” is fixed
- You’ve checked every page or screen one last time
- At least one tester said they’d pay for it, or asked where to get it

Send your product to three moms who match your buyer, with the feedback questions. Give them a few days. While you wait, start Module 6.
You finished Module 5.
You found an idea, checked it, built it and tested it with real moms. You have a product. Module 6 is where you get paid for it.
