Coop Ready Texas The Colony
Larger lots only
Only on big lots. The Colony requires the pen to be 200 ft from every house, including your own, which rules out typical home lots.
The 200 ft rule has no exception for the owner's own house. Enclosures need fences that stop escapes and must stay free of flies and vermin. Texas Agriculture Code 251.0055 (HB 1750, 2023) may limit city rules on agricultural operations; it is untested for backyard hens.
